Hard to Tell, pt. 2

Do I move backwards?

This evening, I went looking for a piece of costume in the mall. I bopped into a few women's clothing stores for this item, and after a bit of flirtatious banter with one of the sales girls (who was likely a tad young for me), I decided that shopping for women's clothes is a good way to meet women.

Matt and I were driving to the mall. I crossed a large intersection because I had the green. A young woman pulled into the crossing, stopping her car a full length over the line. She had shoulder length dark hair, a station wagon and a presumably pretty face. As we drove through the light, I looked in her direction. She caught my eye. She opened her fingers from the wheel and covered her face with her hands. My chest fluttered.

After lunch, I caught the eyes of a girl in Uprise Bakery (my favorite cafe in Columbia now). She had pale skin with freckles (possibly the best kind of skin), a lip ring and hair that rolled brown to her shoulders. She danced the floor as if no one in the world was watching. I looked away. It's the respectful thing to do. But I stole glimpses of her hips swaying and her skin sweeping me with her as she passed through the door.

Am I lonely?

Hard to tell.

three words: craigslist missed connections!

Hah, I don't know how craigslist personals are used in LA, but I'm pretty sure the only people who use them in the Midwest are serial killers, stalkers and pedophiles.

....or perhaps you're suggesting I settle for one of those.

Dude, I'd say go for it. This is an avenue you've never pursued, and it's pretty much where you'd kill it.

The time is now.

Craigslist is for cheap furniture.
